Computer-Adaptive Testing means every question reacts to the last one. Answer at your level, the next one gets harder. Miss it, the engine recalibrates. That's how the real exam works, and it's the only format that gives a meaningful read.
The sim ends when the engine has enough data to estimate where you'd score on a real attempt. Same logic the NREMT uses to cut its own test. No padding. No filler. When the read is reliable, you're done.
At the end you get a pass projection, your readiness by domain, and a short list of the topics actually dragging you down. Not a percentage of questions correct. An estimate of how the same skill level performs on the real test.

You'll get a pass projection, Likely, Borderline, or Not yet, based on how an EMT-B candidate of your estimated skill level historically performs on the real exam. It's a projection, not a guarantee, but it's calibrated against real CAT cutoff behavior.
For the verdict to be calibrated, yes. The real NREMT CAT decides confidence using around 70-120 items per candidate, drawn from a much larger bank. Adapina's 150-question bank is rotated through an adaptive engine that selects based on your live ability estimate, not by serving everything. New questions ship weekly via OTA — no app update needed.
The CAT sim is untimed by default. You can pause between questions, re-read, look up unfamiliar terms. The point is to get an accurate readiness signal, not to simulate test-day pressure. Domain Drills are short 5-15 question sets you can do on a 10-minute break.
Not yet — Adapina v1 is EMT-Basic only. AEMT and Paramedic banks are on the roadmap if EMT-Basic finds users. If you'd subscribe to those, email me and you'll get a heads-up before launch.
Yes. The subscription is billed by Apple. Cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancel before the 3-day trial ends and you won't be charged. There's no email needed.
